Testimony

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)

In 2007, I was 36 years old. That was the year I truly came to know Jesus.

At that time, my business had failed. I was carrying a huge amount of debt—so much that I honestly believed I would never be able to repay it. My eldest son had just turned one year old, and if I am completely honest, I had lost the courage to face the future.

But the Bible says:

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)

It was in that dark season that Jesus found me.

I experienced His mercy and His love in a way I had never known before. I felt the Lord calling me:

“Come to me. Trust me. Do what pleases me.”

And by His grace, I did.

Although I was still heavily in debt, God placed something unexpected on my heart: helping trafficked and missing children find their way home.

At that time in China, many children had been separated from their families through child trafficking. From a human perspective, it made no sense at all. I could barely support my own family. How could I possibly help others?

Yet I was continually reminded of Jesus’ words:

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33)

So I took a step of faith.

I began working on a project to help reunite missing children with their families. In those early days, people from our church gathered in prayer around the clock, taking turns to pray for the ministry. God heard those prayers.

Soon, brothers and sisters from church volunteered to help. Technical engineers joined us. Others helped with outreach. Resources began arriving from unexpected places. What started with almost nothing grew rapidly and reached more than a million users within its first year.

At the same time, God never forgot my own family.

Many times I worried about how I would pay my children’s nursery fees the following month. Yet whenever I reached the end of myself, God would provide. Someone would ask me to build a website, a new project would appear, and somehow there was always enough.

Looking back, I can see that God was faithfully providing for us every step of the way.

The project continued to grow and helped many children reconnect with their birth families. Through this work, God also opened unexpected doors in my career and helped me establish myself in the technology industry. In time, I paid off all my debts, started a company, and got back on my feet.

Today, the project has become part of a government-supported programme and continues helping missing and trafficked children find their way home.

The Bible says:

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

I can stand here today and say that those words are true.

From that point onwards, fear no longer ruled my heart.

Because the Bible says:

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.” (1 John 4:18)

In 2022, God led my family to the United Kingdom.

When we arrived, we knew nobody. We were strangers in a new country.

Our very first stop was church.

On the first Sunday after arriving in London, I attended HTB. Later I met Brother Eugene at a small church in Esher. Today, he is like a real brother to me here in England.

As we settled into life here, God provided again and again—finding a home, helping our children settle into school, and guiding us through every challenge.

Three years ago, we came to Ruxley Church.

My twin boys were suspected of having ADHD. They found it difficult to sit still and often struggled in situations where other children seemed comfortable. As a father, I worried about whether they would be accepted.

But at Ruxley Church, we found grace.

The Sunday School teachers never looked down on them. They never made them feel unwelcome. They simply accepted them and loved them.

It reminds me of Jesus’ words:

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Mark 10:14)

Over these three years, the boys have made remarkable progress.

Today they talk about Jesus at home, and the phrase I hear most often is:

“Jesus protects us.”

As a father, there is nothing more precious than hearing those words.

Then, three months ago, our family faced another major trial.

Our visa was at risk.

If it had been cancelled, our future in the UK would have been uncertain. Our mortgage, our jobs, and our children’s schooling would all have been affected.

I reached out to Emma and Alex for prayer. One Tuesday evening, I joined the prayer group here and shared our situation.

The prayer group encouraged me to place everything in God’s hands and trust Him completely.

So that is what we did.

We prayed, we trusted, and we moved forward with the appeal process.

Last month, we received the news that our appeal had been successful and our visa had been restored.

Everything I had read suggested that cases like ours were very rarely successful.

To us, this was an extraordinary answer to prayer.

The moment I received the news, I told Alex, and she shared it with the prayer group. Together we thanked God for His faithfulness.

Once again, we experienced the truth of Scripture:

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

So today, I stand before you simply as a witness.

A witness that Jesus is faithful.

A witness that Jesus provides.

A witness that Jesus answers prayer.

A witness that Jesus is still working today.
